Flags for Heroes 2020

Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and vocations. COVID-19 expanded our concept of a hero when grocery stores and gas stations were the only businesses allowed to remain open. Doctors and nurses continue to work tirelessly to care for the sick. Custodians and cleaning crews are sanitizing everything in sight. Parents suddenly thrust into the role of teacher have a new appreciation for what goes on in the classroom. Perhaps it's a family member or friend who inspires us to be a better person, or someone who lives "Service Above Self" in their daily life. Our HERO.

The Rotary Club of the West Shore invites you to honor that person through our premier fundraising event, Flags for Heroes. By sponsoring a flag in your hero's name, you will join with hundreds of others in making a bold statement that says:

We Honor you, Hero.

We Encourage you, Hero.

We Recognize you, Hero.

We Offer thanks to you, Hero.

Don't miss your chance to be part of this inaugural event! The powerful and emotional display of sponsored flags will take place the week of November 8-15, 2020, along the Taylor Bridge Bypass (1250 Camp Hill Bypass).

Funds raised through this event allow the Rotary Club of the West Shore to thank those who give selflessly while continuing to support local projects and initiatives such as donations to programs that serve the needy in our community, projects that provide books to local schools, leadership programs, and ongoing support of polio eradication around the world.

Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $2,000. Each sponsor will receive a commemorative keepsake and/or certificate suitable for framing.

6 flags honoring your heroes, Facebook and event page recognition, and corporate social media link

$750 – Silver

8 flags honoring your heroes, all of the above PLUS logo on event banner/signage

$1,000 – Gold

10 flags honoring your heroes, all of the above PLUS recognition at dedication ceremony and honorary one-year membership in RCWS

$2,000 – Paul Harris Platinum

15 flags honoring your heroes, all of the above PLUS master sponsor at dedication ceremony with opportunity to speak at the event and radio or TV recognition

We invite you to join us for the 2020 Dedication Ceremony which will be held at the site location (1250 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill, PA) from 12:00 - 12:30 pm on Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The Dedication Ceremony will also be broadcast live on the Rotary Club of the West Shore Facebook page.

We are excited that WHP radio personality RJ Harris has agreed to emcee the ceremony. For those able to attend in person, come prepared to wish RJ a happy birthday!
