Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Recap
We are delighted to welcome RYLA participant, Jimmy Quinlan from Camp Hill High School, and guidance counselor Raeleen Eckerd-Taylor, to our Thursday meeting. Jimmy will share his RYLA experience, and club members will have an opportunity to ask questions.

For those unfamiliar with RYLA, it is a 5-day leadership training program held at Messiah University each June.

Thanks to funds raised through Flags for Heroes, our club typically sponsors at least four local high school students to attend.

In the past, we've received phenomenal feedback from those who have participated. We look forward to what Jimmy has to share about his experience!
Flags coming down - help needed
It's time to take down the flags from our Flags for Heroes event. For those who are able to help, please meet at 8:45 am on Friday, October 6 in the parking area closest to the flags. Any help is much appreciated.
Vickie's Angel Walk
Vickie's Angel Walk is almost here! As in the past, our club will hand out water and snacks to participants during the October 14 event.

This is an easy and fun club activity that does not take a lot of effort of time. If you're able to join us, plan to meet in front of the West Shore Theatre in New Cumberland at 9:15 am. We should be done by 11:00 am. Thanks!
October 19 - Field Trip!
Remember that our October 19 meeting will be held at 7:30 am at Simpson Library in Mechanicsburg (16 N. Walnut St.). The meeting will feature a tour of the library, and will be held in conjunction with the Mechanicsburg North and Yellow Breeches clubs.
The RCWS Board plans to meet on October 31 with a specific focus about where to direct proceeds from our fundraising efforts.

Your voice matters! If you have any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions for consideration, please let one of your board members know. (Bim, Rod, Erin, Mark) Once we have some ideas, we will bring them before the full club for consideration.
Club Grant Project 2023-2024
As mentioned in the past, our club's grant application was approved by the District Grant Committee. This is great news for our little club!

The focus will be on mental health, and we anticipate an event in May 2024 to coincide with National Mental Health Month.

Club member Erin Sunday will be leading this project/event. If you are interested in being a part of the planning, please reach out to Erin.
